Mourinho Seals Benfica Return With Rare Exit Clause
Portuguese Jose Mourinho's signed 2 year contract with Benfica but with unique clause giving both sides the right to terminate the deal at the end of the current season.
Benfica turned to the 62 year old after sacking Bruno Lage in the early hours of Wednesday following shock home defeat to Qarabag in the Champions league group stage opener.
According to Portuguese outlet Record, either party can end the contract within the first 10 day after the season finishes.
If the partnership fails, Benfica would pay significantly less compared to a termination at any other time.
The clause also covers the scenario of Mourinho resigning in which case "The Special One'' would pay pre agreed sum.
Mourinho returns to Benfica 25 year after brief spell replacing German coach Jupp Heynckes.
His comeback comes after leaving Fenerbahce who were eliminated in Champions league qualifiers by none other than Benfica.
