According to Glorioso 1904, José Mourinho is said to have given Real Madrid a list of targets that includes Benfica centre-back Tomás Araújo.
The report also says Mourinho wants the defender for Fenerbahçe. Benfica are now coached by Marco Silva.
Araújo impressed Mourinho at Benfica and is viewed as having the potential to step up to one of the biggest clubs.
Last season the 24-year-old established himself, competing for starts with Nicolás Otamendi and António Silva, and earning a call-up for Portugal for the 2026 World Cup.
He made 43 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. The Portugal international is under contract at Benfica until 2029 and remains one of their most valued assets.
There has been no formal offer at this stage, but his inclusion on Mourinho’s list underlines the impact he made on the coach. Club president Rui Costa could face increased pressure if Madrid’s interest becomes more concrete during the summer window.
