England’s U21s continued their perfect start to EURO U21 qualifying with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Slovakia, thanks to a double from Divin Mubama.
The striker put the Young Lions ahead inside the first 20 minutes, nodding home from a slick team move that began in defence. Jamie Gittens’ ball to the back post was cleverly flicked across by Tyrique George, leaving Mubama with a simple header into the net.
The hosts had a chance to respond shortly after, but Matej Riznic’s close-range effort sailed over the bar, and Lee Carsley's side maintained control throughout the first half.
The second goal arrived midway through the second period as Ethan Nwaneri calmly dinked the ball over the Slovak keeper after picking up Sydie Peck’s lofted pass. From that moment, England dominated completely. Josh King struck a low, powerful shot to make it 3-0, before Mubama added his second of the night to seal the rout.
The result keeps the Young Lions unbeaten and firmly at the top of Group D, with their attacking trio showing plenty of firepower ahead of the next round of fixtures.
