Divine Mukasa has signed a new deal with Manchester City, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2030.
The 18-year-old joined the Club in 2023 and has since shone for our Under-18s and Elite Development Squad, eventually earning a place in Pep Guardiola’s squad.
An England youth international up to U19 level, Mukasa made his senior City debut in September 2025 and has now totalled six appearances for our first team.
He also gained valuable experience on at Leicester City in the second half of the campaign, grabbing two goals and three assists in 15 Championship appearances.
And now, fresh from signing his new deal, the midfielder says he’s determined to keep progressing.
On signing his new deal, Mukasa said: “I am really excited to see what the future has in store for me.
“I have learnt so much since the day I arrived at the Club from players and staff alike. The experiences I have gained have definitely bettered me as a player and a person.
“With this said, I can only use the environment to continue to progress. My taste of first team football at City earlier last season has only furthered my ambition to compete at the highest level.”
Director of Football Hugo Viana added: “In Divine, I feel we have someone with huge potential. It’s really good news that he has decided to extend his stay with us.
“Since he came to City in 2023, he has consistently improved and developed. He works hard, shows humility and is eager to learn. That is a great combination for any young footballer.
“He has shown really positive development throughout his loan at Leicester, and we are excited to see him develop further over the coming seasons.
“I am really pleased for Divine – he deserves this.”
Mukasa’s first season at City saw him play a key role in our 2023/24 FA Youth Cup success, before registering 16 goals and 15 assists in 20 appearances in the U18 Premier League last term.
That form earned him a maiden senior outing in the pre-season friendly with Palermo in August 2025 before a competitive debut in the Carabao Cup defeat of Huddersfield Town.
He then started the subsequent wins over Swansea City and Brentford in the same competition, while appearing twice as a substitute in the Premier League and in the FA Cup victory over Exeter City.
At EDS level, he has captained Ben Wilkinson’s side on occasion in both the Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League and netted a hat-trick in the 6-0 win over Leverkusen.
Mukasa’s impressive rise will now continue with City for the next four years at least, with the young midfielder’s exploits rewarded with a long-term contract.
Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate Divine on his contract extension.
