Sevilla grabbed a slender lead in their Europa League last-16 tie with West Ham United.
Munir El Haddadi scored the game's only goal for the six-time Europa League winners.
In their first European knockout tie since 1981, West Ham looked more than capable against the Andalusian giants.
Nikola Vlasic had a great early chance for the visitors but could only direct his header straight at Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
Sevilla also had several decent chances as Youssef En-Nesyri and Lucas Ocampos went close to breaching West Ham's goal.
Despite the loss, West Ham will feel buoyed by the performance and believe they can overturn the deficit next week in east London.
