FC Bayern Munich continue to march towards the treble. The record champions put in another good performance in the 2-0 win in the cup semi-final in Leverkusen. The game was an important test for Jamal Musiala, and he passed it
Musiala was in the starting eleven and was involved in the 1-0 when he crossed the ball in the penalty area for Harry Kane to shoot in. The attacking star also put in a good performance until his substitution in the closing stages
What stood out was that Musiala was not only active with the ball, but also worked hard against it, winning the odd duel, making tackles in midfield, showing commitment and going where it literally hurts
Compared to the second leg against Real Madrid in the Champions League and the outings against St. Pauli and Stuttgart, it may not have been an improvement in footballing terms, but leading the duels and keeping up the intensity are good signs, as Musiala was still cautious immediately after his comeback, sometimes showing respect or even fear of injury

Overall, it was a step forward again, just on a different level. Musiala himself recently said: „I don’t want any excuses. When I’m on the pitch, I have to perform and deliver.“ And that’s exactly where he’s clearly heading at the moment
Bayern boss Max Eberl has also noticed this. „I’ve already noticed him being very active for the team in the last few weeks and days when he was back after his injury against Bergamo,“ said the sporting director. Musiala plays „very intensively“ and „always has his moments.“ That’s exactly what he needs. Scoring points will come naturally when he really gets going
And one thing is certain, according to Eberl: „We need him now in the big games.“ And Bayern will have at least three more big games this season.
