Chelsea signed Sarr from Strasbourg last summer, and he made his debut at the Club World Cup, before being sent back on loan to the French side.
Sarr worked under Liam Rosenior for 18 months at Strasbourg, and played a key role as they qualified for the Conference League last season.
Chelsea wanted to bring in a new centre back in January, and pursued Rennes star Jeremy Jacquet for the majority of the window.
However, the France under-21 international opted to join Liverpool instead, with Chelsea instead choosing to recall Sarr from Strasbourg loan.

Sarr impressed in his first appearance against Hull in the FA Cup, and will be hoping for more opportunities over the remainder of the campaign.
The Senegal international is very much a player for both the present and future, and he revealed what his goals at Chelsea are.
“I just try to play a good game and be good on the pitch, because it’s all about that and winning trophies,” he told Chelsea’s YouTube channel.
“My goal is to win trophies here, play a lot of games and learn from my team-mates and the Premier League as well.”
Despite recalling Sarr, it’s believed centre back is still a priority for the Blues in the summer, with a number of options likely to be on the table.
It’s thought Benoit Badiashile and Tosin Adarabioyo will leave at the end of the season, whilst there’s a possibility Trevoh Chalobah could also be moved on.
