‘My Mind Was A Bit Elsewhere’ – Star Makes Admission On Poor Tottenham Hotspur Season | OneFootball

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Randal Kolo Muani has admitted that his mind was elsewhere during his Spurs loan spell, due to his desire to return to Juventus.

Kolo Muani joined Tottenham in September 2025 on a season-long loan from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain, with a move to Juventus not getting off the ground and Spurs swooping in.

The Frenchman endured a disappointing campaign with the Lilywhites, recording just two goal contributions in 30 Premier League appearances last term, as he failed to deliver the hoped for impact.

Following the end of loan spell, the 27-year-old had been very keen to join Juventus, regardless of whether the Bianconeri would be able to offer him Champions League football in the next season.

The Italian giants were also keen on Kolo Muani, who enjoyed a successful six-month loan spell with Juventus during the second half of the 2024/25 season.

Eventually, Juventus were able to secure the signature of the Frenchman earlier this month, tying the player to a five-year contract.

Kolo Muani acknowledged that his time at Tottenham was a difficult period in his career, but says that he was distracted by his desire to return to Juventus.

The 27-year-old, fresh off having experienced a relegation battle at Tottenham, expressed his happiness at officially returning to Juventus and feels it is like a fresh start.

Kolo Muani told Italian daily Tuttosport: “There were several things that didn’t work. For me, it was something more personal.

“I think my mind was a bit elsewhere: I wanted to return to Juventus.

“It’s also an episode in a player’s career: not every season can be positive, we can say that. For me, it was a year in which I learned something: I had injuries, my first injuries, but luckily I was able to recover from all of them.

“I think it’s due to all these things, but now it’s a new championship, it’s a new chapter for me. So I think it’s a new version of me, let’s say.”

Juventus missed out on the Champions League last season and Kolo Muani will be looking to put that right this term.

Without Kolo Muani, Tottenham have been pushing ahead with a rebuild under Roberto De Zerbi and, with defence and midfield addressed, now the final third is the focus.
