NAC Breda, Sparta Rotterdam and Excelsior showing interest in former Oxford United and QPR target

There are a number of Eredivisie sides showing interest in Oskar Zawada of FC Groningen. The forward was once on the radar of QPR and Oxford United during his time with RKC Waalwijk. Over the summer, instead of joining either QPR or Oxford Untied, Zawada remained in the Eredivisie and joined Groningen. Last season Zawada scored 11 goals in 29 games for RKC Waalwijk, but this year he has only been a bit part player for high flying Groningen. In 10 games, he has one goal.

The sides that, according to VI, are interested in the striker are NAC Breda, Excelsior and Sparta Rotterdam. It doesn’t appear that, due to his lack of playing time, sides like QPR or Oxford United are showing renewed interest. Zawada is said to be keen on a move to get more playing time, but Groningen want to bring in a replacement before allowing him to depart. The deal is likely to be a loan with an option to buy. Of the three teams interested, NAC and Excelsior are the more desperate giving their current situations. Both are very much involved in the Eredivisie relegation battle and, remarkably, have scored only 19 goals in 19 games so far.

Sparta Rotterdam have a few illnesses and thus would like another striker. They have scored 24 goals in 19 games and sit in seventh place in the Eredivisie.
