Strasbourg beat Brest 2-1 at Stade Francis-Le Blé on Wednesday to stay eighth in Ligue 1.

Le Racing struck first in the ninth minute when Valentín Barco finished from close range after Sebastian Nanasi's pass. Ludovic Ajorque levelled with a glancing header from Kenny Lala's cross (13.). Nanasi then rose to nod in Julio Enciso's delivery for what proved the winner (20.).

Mike Penders kept Le Racing in front with five first half saves, denying Ajorque and Hugo Magnetti as the pressure built.

After the restart, Brest introduced Rémy Labeau Lascary and Pathé Mboup and pushed hard, with Ajorque heading wide from Mboup's cross late on. Four minutes were added, but Le Racing held firm.

Brest registered 21 attempts, with six on target. Le Racing were clinical from 10 attempts, hitting the target five times.

Next, Brest host Angers. Le Racing host Monaco.
