FC Nantes are currently in talks with Serie B club Spezia Calcio over a move for Kelvin Amian (25). After refurbishing their attacking department with the arrivals of Benie Traoré and Tino Kadewere, Les Canaris are in the market for defensive reinforcements, in particular for a right-back. The versatile Amian, who left Toulouse for Spezia Calcio in 2021 in a €4m switch, can play as a centre-back or as a right-back. According to both Ouest-France and Foot Mercato, the Toulouse FC youth product is on the verge of joining Nantes. Talks are underway between the two outfits.
Ouest-France understand that Amian has agreed to make his return in Ligue 1. The outlet adds that Nantes and Spezia are yet to find an agreement over a loan move with an option to buy. Meanwhile, Foot Mercato adds that Serie A clubs Genoa and Bologna are also keeping a close eye on Amian.
Amian’s arrival at La Beaujoire may trigger the departures of several Nantes defenders, namely right-backs Fabien Centonze and Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel. Ouest-France understands that Nantes won’t get in the way of Centonze and Pierre-Gabriel should an offer were to arrive for the two players. Ouest-France and L’Equipe report that the former Metz defender is courted by relegation-battlers FC Lorient.
Centonze has fallen out with former Nantes manager Pierre Aristouy and his game time did not improve under current boss Jocelyn Gourvennec. The same can be said for Pierre-Gabriel, whose move as a free agent is set to last only a mere months in Nantes.
