Nantes are ready to join Venezia in the race to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Filip Stankovic on loan this summer.

This according to Spanish outlet Relevo, via FCInterNews. They confirm reports from Sky Sport Italia that a French club is keen on signing the 22-year-old, and name Nantes as that club.

Inter are virtually certain to send keeper Stankovic out on another loan next season.

The Serb spent last season on loan with Sampdoria.

The Blucerchiati had a purchase option that would have become an obligation to sign Stankovic on a permanent basis at the end of last season had they won promotion to Serie A.

However, Sampdoria failed to do so.

Therefore, Stankovic is likely to go to a different club on loan.

Sampdoria had in fact shown an interest in bringing Stankovic back to Liguria for next season.

However, it has been teams in Serie A that have really come forward. Empoli had sounded out a loan for the 22-year-old.

But it has been Venezia who have really pushed for a deal. The newly-promoted team are looking for a new keeper, and have been in negotiations with Inter.

However, according to Spanish outlet, Nantes are also keen to loan Stankovic this season.

Therefore, it could be an experience in Ligue 1 for the Serb next season.

That would not be the first loan abroad for Stankovic.

Stankovic spent two seasons on loan with Volendam in the Netherlands, the 2021-22 and 2022-23 campaigns.

There, Stankovic and Inter teammate Gaetano Oristanio helped the Dutch side win promotion from the Eerste Divisie to the Eredivisie. Then in his second season, he helped keep them up.

And it could be another loan deal to a team outside Italy for the 22-year-old keeper, if Nantes are able to sign him.
