Napoli Could Quickly Part Ways with Two Recent Newcomers

Lorenzo Lucca isn’t the only Napoli summer newcomer potentially on his way out in January, as Noa Lang could depart too. The winger hasn’t totally convinced Antonio Conte and has some suitors in Turkey, Il Mattino reports (via Fantacalcio).

It took the winger a couple of months to find his footing and earn a run of starts, scoring once and faring reasonably well after the Partenopei lost Kevin De Bruyne and Frank Anguissa and tilted their scheme. However, he has gone back to the coach’s doghouse recently, ceding minutes to Elijf Elmas. The 26-year-old has made 22 total appearances.

Lang isn’t thrilled with how his Napoli spell is going and is welcoming proposals. The management is on the same page but needs to recoup their €25M investment. Moreover, David Neres sprained his ankle against Lazio.

If the Azzurri lose one or more forwards, they’ll rekindle their dated interest in Ademola Lookman, but it’s never easy to deal with Atalanta, especially during the winter. They could try to bring back Giacomo Raspadori, hijacking Roma and Lazio’s chases, Corriere dello Sport informs.

As for Lucca, he could wind up abroad, as Porto, Benfica, and Nottingham Forest are keen on him, Alfredo Pedullà reports. His departure is in its preliminary stages for now.

Our Take on Napoli, Lang, and Lucca

Conte has fairly justifiably earned the reputation of being a hardliner and someone who sees ghosts and problems where there aren’t, but it’s remarkable that they are where they are in the standings despite all their injuries and botching pretty much their whole summer window, except for Rasmus Hojlund. They might as well not even try to roll the dice with players who aren’t already super established and unfamiliar with Serie A.
