Napoli are tracking Benfica midfielder Richard Ríos, with any move in the upcoming window likely to hinge on a midfield departure.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Frank Anguissa is the leading candidate to leave after losing prominence last season, making only 22 appearances.

Napoli’s interest is not new, and the Colombian international’s late-season displays have raised his valuation with several European clubs. The Italian club, who lost 2-0 to Benfica on matchday six of the Champions League league phase, face competition from Inter Milan.

Despite the growing attention, no formal offer had reached Benfica by April. That situation could change during the transfer window.

Ríos joined from Palmeiras in summer 2025 for €27 million. His first year in Lisbon was mixed, yet he produced a career-best return with 45 appearances, eight goals and six assists.
