Napoli Lodge Offer to Onboard Young Chelsea Castoff

Napoli have been linked to multiple strikers throughout the summer, should they part ways with Lorenzo Lucca, and the most concrete option at the moment is Marc Guiu, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

There have been several contacts with Chelsea recently. The Partenopei are trying to concoct a permanent signing for €15/16M plus add-ons. The Blues are asking for more, but there’s not a gulf between the offer and the request.

Unlike other options, Guiu wouldn’t need to be inserted in the Serie A list by Napoli because of his age. He’s looking for consistent minutes after having a rough time in London, logging just 29 appearances since joining in 2024, scoring 8 goals. He was supposed to spend the past campaign at Sunderland, but he was hastily recalled due to some early injuries. He didn’t produce and fell out of favor from December on.

While the Azzurri could simply add the Barcelona product to their squad, they would instead need to part ways with either Lorenzo Lucca or Noa Lang to accommodate the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, who’s the top name on their shortlist, Il Mattino reports. However, both subbed in well against Genoa. The club spent a healthy sum to acquire them. They’ll let the latter depart only for a worthy bid. Atalanta, Bologna, and Galatasaray are tracking him.

Our Take on Napoli and Guiu

Considering the valuations and salaries of their other targets, he’s indeed a more believable target, also for the role he’d have. Rasmus Hojlund is going to dominate the minutes at the position anyway. It wouldn’t be surprising or particularly detrimental if they wound up standing pat because they couldn’t find acceptable terms for their excess players.
