Napoli ready to part ways with Romelu Lukaku

Having arrived in Naples, Romelu Lukaku has yet to play a single match due to recurring injuries. This situation has now led the Italian club to consider a permanent split.

According to several English and Italian media outlets, Napoli no longer count on the 32-year-old Belgian striker. The loan signing of Rasmus Højlund, who quickly made an impact, has further diminished Lukaku’s sporting value at the club.

The Neapolitan club is reportedly ready to sell him for a fee between 15 and 20 million euros, with the clear aim of reducing its wage bill. A return to the Premier League is on the cards. Everton, his former club, as well as Aston Villa, are said to be the most serious contenders. As a reminder, Lukaku wore the Everton shirt between 2013 and 2017 before moving to Manchester United for over 80 million euros.
