Napoli ‘to miss out on’ Gila as Atalanta near Lazio valuation

Article image:Napoli ‘to miss out on’ Gila as Atalanta near Lazio valuation

Napoli risk missing out on Gila, with Atalanta now closer to Lazio’s valuation. The 25-year-old Spaniard has one year left on his contract at the Italian capital club.

Alfredo Pedulla reports that Napoli have yet to reach an agreement with Lazio, tabling €15 million plus bonuses and considering a counterpart such as Rafa Marin or Lorenzo Lucca. He adds that Atalanta’s proposal has cleared the €20 million mark including add-ons, and that Gila’s fondness for Maurizio Sarri could draw him to Bergamo.

Napoli had been leading the race in recent weeks after agreeing personal terms with the player’s agent, Alejandro Camano. A five-year contract worth €3 million net per season awaits Gila in Naples.

Lazio prefer a sale this summer rather than risking a free exit next June. They are holding out for €25-30 million and, with Real Madrid entitled to 50% of any sell-on, are not willing to discount for now.

With Atalanta edging closer to that figure, Napoli must accelerate talks with Lazio or risk losing a race they had led.
