Romagnoli ‘to complete’ Al-Sadd medical as Atalanta and Napoli ‘battle’ for Gila | OneFootball

Sky Sport Italia reports that Alessio Romagnoli is to undergo his Al-Sadd medical after the paperwork was signed, while Lazio team-mate Mario Gila is weighing interest from Napoli and Atalanta.

The Aquile have again opened the summer busy with departures, several moves having been lined up for months. In January Romagnoli bid farewell to supporters but the club blocked his exit. He returned with an understanding he could head to Qatar in the summer.

Only medical tests and a presentation remain, with the deal worth around €3m.

Sportitalia reports the Gila situation is complicated, with his contract running to June 2027 and no sign of a renewal. Lazio are hesitant over a Napoli offer believed to be €15m plus add-ons, and Atalanta have made a fresh approach, ready to pay over €20m including performance-related bonuses.

Because 50 per cent of any sale is owed to Real Madrid, Lazio are tempted to keep him until his deal winds down.

Such a switch would reunite the Spaniard with former Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri in Bergamo.
