Nice have signed Nathan Ngoumou from Borussia Mönchengladbach on a two-year contract on Monday. The 26-year-old Cameroon international returns to Ligue 1 four years after leaving Toulouse for Germany.
According to L'Équipe, he arrives on a free despite having one year left on his deal, and Mönchengladbach will collect 10% of any future sale.
Ngoumou missed last season after rupturing an Achilles tendon in April 2025. He trained intensively this summer in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat with Nicolas Dyon, who returned as Nice’s fitness coach in late June.
A Ligue 2 champion in 2022, he moved to Mönchengladbach at the end of that summer window. He played only one match in August, against Nice.
He will be presented on Tuesday. Axel Witsel should follow quickly, with the 37-year-old Belgian international, a free agent, due to undergo a medical and sign for one year plus an option. If all goes to plan, he could be unveiled on Wednesday.
