Everton have reached an agreement with Serie A side Torino for the permanent transfer of right-back Nathan Patterson. The 24-year-old Scotland international traveled to Turin to undergo a medical and complete terms on a 3-year deal running through June 2029.
The Toffees accepted a nominal initial fee of around €1M (£850k), but crucially negotiated a substantial 30% sell-on clause to ensure future returns if the fullback regains his form in Italy.
Patterson arrived at Goodison Park from Rangers in January 2022 with considerable promise. However, his 4½-year tenure on Merseyside was repeatedly disrupted by severe injury setbacks and selection struggles. He leaves Everton having made 68 appearances across all competitions in that time.
With Patterson in the final year of his contract and out of favor under David Moyes — who has recently deployed midfielder Merlin Rohl at right-back —both parties agreed a fresh start was the best resolution before the deadline. Everton are actively closing in on Fulham's Kenny Tete to re-stock their full-back department.
"Everyone at Everton thanks Nathan for his efforts and wishes him the very best of luck in Serie A with Torino."
