Wolves chairman Nathan Shi has told supporters the club is ready to respond after relegation from the Premier League was confirmed.

After eight seasons in the top flight, Wolves will play in the Championship in 2026/27, having sat bottom all year. According to ExpressAndStar.com, Jeff Shi left in December and fellow Fosun employee Nathan Shi stepped in as interim chairman, a role that is unchanged as he is expected to be given the chance to lead a crucial summer.

Shi described confirmation of relegation as a difficult moment for everyone at the club. He said work has been ongoing since his arrival to ensure Wolves can respond with clarity and conviction.

He added that the club knows where improvements are required, with the focus on strengthening, building momentum and shaping a team supporters can believe in. He said they understand what is required and will approach the coming months with purpose.

Shi accepted this season has tested fans’ loyalty and patience and stressed their backing, home and away, has not gone unnoticed. He said supporters deserve better and making them proud will guide the club’s work from now on.
