The Eintracht left-back receives his first call-up for Germany, with Robin Koch and Jonathan Burkardt also included again.

Eintracht Frankfurt will be sending three players to the German senior national team in the upcoming international break. As well as captain Robin Koch (15 caps) and Jonathan Burkardt (three caps), Nathaniel Brown will be part of Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the first time. The national team boss had been pondering over a call-up for the left-back for some time, as he explained at the end of August: “Nene Brown would’ve been involved too but he’s only just returned to training, plus a few minutes in the last game. After injury and holiday, he wasn’t quite physically up to it yet.”

In five starts in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League since, Brown has clearly convinced the management at the German Football Association (DFB) and can now hope for his senior international debut. He’s also the only new name in the latest squad.

The 22-year-old has made 14 appearances for the German U21 side since 2023. Brown joined Eintracht from 1. FC Nürnberg in 2024.

Germany play Luxembourg in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup on 10 October in Sinsheim. Nagelsmann’s team then travel to Belfast for the return fixture against Northern Ireland on 13 October. Both matches kick off at 20:45 CEST.
