NEC Nijmegen beat Volendam 3-0 at Goffertstadion to rise from fourth to third in the Eredivisie.

In the 39th minute Noé Lebreton steered a right-footed finish into the bottom left corner to break the deadlock.

After the restart Basar Önal doubled the lead with a low strike from outside the box, set up by Lebreton (47.).

Sami Ouaissa then sealed it with a left-footed effort from range after Tjaronn Chery's pass (63.).

Jasper Cillessen made three saves, thwarting Robin van Cruijsen and later Robert Mühren, to preserve the clean sheet.

Brayann Pereira departed injured in the first half, with Ahmetcan Kaplan introduced.

NEC Nijmegen racked up 27 attempts, 11 on target, and forced 12 corners. Volendam produced seven efforts.

NEC Nijmegen visit PSV next. Volendam remain 14th and host Fortuna Sittard next.
