Broos on potential Nemtajela, Makgalwa debuts

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has responded to whether Masindi Nemtajela and Keletso Makgalwa will make their debuts for the senior national team on Saturday.

The pair received its maiden Bafana call-ups ahead of the international friendly match against Zambia at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, and will be itching to be involved on the pitch.

Broos says the players' long-term future with the national team lies with their behavior in camp and hinted on possibly handing them their debuts depending on the nature of the game.

“This is for them the next step. So, they made the first step, the first step is to be chosen, that is done. Now is the next step, okay we will see, I'll monitor very carefully how they behave in training, how they behave in the group,” said the Belgian mentor.

"Maybe that depends on, for example, how will the game be on Saturday - maybe they will get few minutes of play time and that's why they are here.

Though the Orlando Pirates midfielder and the Sekhukhune United talisman have donned the national team jersey at various levels, the veteran tactician highlighted their lack of experience at the highest level.

“So, every player, certainly young players like them - they come here with no experience of international level. You can't avoid that, otherwise you have to take all these players with much experience but for them sometimes it's also the first time,” Broos added.

"So, we have to watch them now and then see how good they are and if they reach the level we want and then for the future okay we will see.
