According to Meu Timao, Neo Química Arena received on Friday a recommendation to obtain ISO 14001 certification, a set of standards for environmental management systems, highlighting the Corinthians venue in Brazil and across Latin America.

The recommendation followed an audit by DQS, an international certification body. Across three stages, auditors examined stadium processes and their environmental impacts, including waste management, water consumption and wider sustainability practices.

On the back of the assessment, the arena has been put forward to receive certification for 2027 to 2029.

ISO 14001 sets criteria for environmental management systems and helps organisations identify and control the impacts of their activities. In this case, the review considered procedures used in the stadium’s operation.

The venue’s Environmental Policy outlines responsible, sustainable operations, strict compliance with environmental law and standards, reduced use of natural resources, and pollution prevention and control. It also prioritises proper waste disposal, sustainability awareness among stakeholders and continuous improvement across the complex.
