Neo Química Arena closed all toilets in the South Stand during Sunday’s Corinthians v Internacional match in the 10th round of the Brasileirão.

Supporters in the sector reported difficulty using the facilities in the first half, saying all urinals were blocked and queues quickly formed. The stadium said in a statement that its maintenance contractor had been called and was already working to resolve the problem.

With the issue escalating, arena management shut the area before the interval and positioned containerised chemical toilets nearby as an emergency measure.

The number of temporary units proved insufficient for demand, leading to lengthy lines, particularly at half-time. The stadium expressed regret for the incident.

In recent days the venue also hosted the Família ao Pé da Cruz event on Good Friday, organised by the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, which drew a large crowd.

On the pitch, Corinthians went in under pressure to end a run of eight matches without a win this season, five draws and three defeats, adding strain early in the Brasileirão.
