Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij is happy to be able to keep winning trophies after another Supercoppa Italiana triumph.

The Dutchman spoke to InterTV after the final against Napoli, via FCInterNews.

Inter have now won the Supercoppa three seasons in a row.

Having beaten AC Milan in the final last season, and Juventus the season before, the Nerazzurri beat reigning Italian champions Napoli in the final this evening.

This is the sixth trophy that de Vrij has won as an Inter player.

The 31-year-old has also gotten his hands on the Serie A title. And on the Coppa Italia twice.

Moreover, Inter have reached both a Europa League and Champions League final whilst de Vrij has been at the club, although they failed to win either.

And for his part, de Vrij does not feel that it’s gotten old.

The former Lazio and Feyenoord is still happy to write yet more chapters in the history of Inter.

Stefan De Vrij Happy To Keep Writing Inter History

“What a brilliant feeling!” de Vrij said after winning the Supercoppa.

The 31-year-old continued that “It’s always great to be able to win trophies and write history with this club.”

“This is a beautiful trophy,” he added.

De Vrij continued that “We’re very hungry, and we want to win trophies.”

“We told ourselves that before the match,” the former Bianconeri man continued.

“We were aware of the importance of this match. Now we want to keep going.”

Inter are back in action in Serie A next weekend against Fiorentina. They will feel that only a win is acceptable given the title race ongoing against Juventus.

And de Vrij thinks that the Supercoppa win “Will give us a lot of extra energy.”

“As I said, it gives us even more of a desire to keep winning,” he added.
