FC Barcelona have almost always been blessed with some of the world’s most prestigious talents. After all, even beyond their ability to sign world-class players, the club can also produce them. Coming through La Masia, Barcelona has seen many greats of the game represent them over the years.
While the likes of Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta, and Xavi Hernandez essentially revolutionized the game, they were not the last of their kind. Game-changers are something that every top club wants, but Barcelona is fortunate enough to find many from their own youth teams.
One such player is Lamine Yamal, the 17-year-old sensation who has already taken the world by storm. Despite still being so young, Yamal has managed to make a name for himself both at club level and at international level with the Spanish National team as well.
Throughout the last two seasons, he has gone from strength and strength as he continues to develop. With people now even backing him for a potential Ballon d’Or, other top players have even credited him as being the best player in the world right now.

However, it is perhaps an even more special occasion when the likes of French icon Zinedine Zidane also decides to add to that praise. As quoted by Barça Times, the former Real Madrid and Juventus midfielder recently singled out Yamal’s superb performance against Inter Milan at the San Siro and praised him for it:
“Lamine Yamal’s second half against Inter… I’ve never seen anything like that in my life.”
He further elaborated on it by praising the Barcelona sensation’s ability on the ball and just how much joy he gives to those that watch him play:
“To see someone with such control on the pitch, it’s amazing. We all enjoy watching him play.”
While this is not the first time that a former Real Madrid player has rightfully praised a Barcelona player this season, it certainly holds a lot of weight by itself. After all, Zidane is considered one of the all-time greats of the sport, and for him to praise Yamal like this is something truly special.
Unfortunately, despite the youngster’s best efforts, Barcelona could not manage to overcome Inter Milan and reach the UEFA Champions League final. Still, Hansi Flick’s side did manage to end a rather memorable season with a domestic treble and with a win over Athletic Club to end their campaign.
