New Almeria co-owner Cristiano Ronaldo hailed the Rojiblancos after a 3-0 win over Cultural Leonesa lifted them into the automatic promotion places in Spain's Segunda Division.

According to Goal.com, the Al-Nassr captain has taken a 25% stake in the Andalusian club and, while recovering from a hamstring problem in Madrid, has been publicly backing the push.

The result made it five wins in six and returned Almeria to second for the first time since November, a notable swing after relegation from the top flight in April 2024.

Momentum has grown since a Saudi group invested in May 2025, then Ronaldo entered the boardroom earlier this month to add further clout to the rebuild.

Shortly after full time, Ronaldo posted on Instagram, "Great win today. We continue." His message offered a lift for a squad balancing heavy expectations with a gruelling promotion push.

Head coach Juan Francesc Ferrer, known as Rubi, urged calm. "This is where we all want to be, but the important thing is to be there by matchday 42," he said. With 39 points still available, he warned of fine margins as they chase leaders Racing Santander, four points clear.

Almeria now enter a defining spell, visiting Real Zaragoza then Huesca before a home meeting with Real Sociedad B, the first steps in the final 13 games.
