Malick Thiaw remains a hot topic at FC Bayern. The Newcastle United central defender is once again being linked with a move to Munich. Now concrete figures are circulating regarding a possible transfer.

Thiaw is still under contract with Newcastle United until 2029, which significantly strengthens the English side’s negotiating position. Nevertheless, there could be movement in the summer of 2026 if concrete offers in the aforementioned range arrive.

The 1.94-metre defender only moved to England from AC Milan in the summer of 2025 and has quickly established himself there. In the current 2025/26 season, he has made 25 Premier League appearances, started 24 times and scored four goals. The German international has not only shown himself to be defensively stable, but has also made his mark offensively with set pieces.

His current market value is estimated at around €40 million, but the transfer fee now being reported is significantly higher, which underlines the importance Thiaw enjoys internally and how high Newcastle are setting the hurdles for a transfer.
