Ardon Jashari feels that he could cover in a number of different roles for Milan, has opened up about the ‘tough’ negotiations between the Rossoneri and his former team Club Brugge, the ‘privilege’ of playing alongside Luka Modric and unjust comparisons between himself and Charles De Ketelaere.
The new Milan signing sat down for his introductory press conference in front of the media on Thursday.
The 23-year-old joined Milan from Club Brugge for a fee of €37m earlier in August, becoming the most expensive arrival in Serie A this transfer window in the process.

Despite the significant fee, Jashari told the press that pressure is normal, and that ‘it doesn’t scare me’ and also feels that he has the full support of head coach Massimiliano Allegri.
“Coming to Milan is a dream come true for me and my family,” Jashari said at the start of his press conference on Thursday.
He continued: “I’ve not been here long, but everyone has given me a really warm welcome. It’s an honour to wear this shirt.
“Milan’s history speaks for itself; so many great players have come through here. Pirlo was my idol as a kid. When I was younger, I loved to watch AC Milan and Barcelona. I’ve been to San Siro before, and I can’t wait to play here.”
Negotiations between Milan and Club Brugge lasted for weeks, and it had looked they could have collapsed at certain stages of the summer. Jashari was left to train individually for much of the off-season as a result.
Discussing the negotiations between the two sides, Jashari said: “It took a while. As soon as Tare and I got in touch, my intentions were clear, and he gave me constant support. I knew it would be a tough negotiation; I was an important player for Club Brugge. We had to be patient. I gave my word to the Club. I also want to thank Ibrahimović.

“My last season in Belgium was a good one; I just focused on finishing on a high note, then my agent began to tell me about the chance to come to Milan.”
Jashari was also asked about the comparisons between him and former Milan player Charles De Ketelaere, but the Switzerland international feels they only have one minor thing in common.
“The only thing we have in common is that we both played for Brugge,” he replied. “Pressure is normal at Milan, and it doesn’t scare me. I’ll work as hard as I can, and I’ll give my all to repay the Club’s faith in me and make the fans happy.”
And on his first few days at Milanello, Jashari said: “My first impressions of the staff and my teammates have been positive. Straight away, Allegri seemed to be the kind of coach who is close with his players. I want to thank him for his kind words after the game in Dublin. You can feel the harmony in the dressing room.

“On the pitch, we want to win because it’s what Milan deserve. I want to contribute and bring my energy to the team. Often, the team that wants it more is the one that wins. I felt free to play in Dublin; I hadn’t played in a while, but I wanted to make a good impression. I still have a lot of room for improvement.
Where does Jashari feel his best position is?
“Allegri will decide that. I’ve played both as a 6 and a 10, because I can play in defence or attack. The most important thing is not to concede, but obviously, I do like to score and assist.”
And on the expected differences between playing football in Belgium and Italy, he added: “It’s very different to the Belgian league, which is getting better, though. It’s more physical in Italy. I’m really happy to be playing in Serie A for Milan.”
Jashari also added that: “It’ll be a privilege to play alongside a top player like Luka (Modric). I’ll enjoy it, and it will definitely help my development.”

And asked about earlier links to Milan’s city-rivals Inter, Jashari said: “I only wanted Milan. I know how important the derby is for the fans, but the most important thing is to take Milan back to the top.”
