According to Sacha Tavolieri, the Belgian club will not be seeking a deal to sign the midfielder due to it being too complicated at this stage of the market.

The Champions League side were linked with Brooks earlier this week, with the club seeing him as an option to add depth to Ivan Leko’s first team squad.

The 22-year-old has been a consistent presence in Chris Wilder’s side so far this season, with the Blades aiming for another top six finish in the Championship.

Brooks has made 24 appearances, including 15 starts, contributing two goals and two assists.

It has been claimed that Club Brugge have pulled out of the running to sign Brooks from Sheffield United this January.

It’s believed that it is now too complicated to complete a deal for the midfielder, with just a couple of days left in the window.

The Belgian outfit qualified for the play-off round of the European Cup midweek, making them an enticing option for the 22-year-old.

However, he will now have to continue fighting for his place at Bramall Lane under Wilder, with the team sitting 17th in the Championship table.

Brooks has come through the ranks of the Yorkshire outfit’s academy system, and has made a total of 67 league appearances, including playing 20 times in the Premier League.

A move to Club Brugge would’ve afforded the Englishman the opportunity to compete in the Champions League, with Leko’s side coming 19th in the league phase table.

It was originally reported that Brooks would be seen as a secondary option for Club Brugge, so it remains unclear whether he would’ve been keen on the move.

Next up for Sheffield United is a trip to face Millwall on Saturday in a 3pm kick-off.

Andre Brooks can be a useful part of Sheffield United’s promotion hopes

Brooks has proven himself over the years as a key part of Wilder’s plans, even if he’s not a guaranteed starter.

With the likes of Ollie Arblaster and Sydie Peck both suffering injury issues this year, Brooks has benefitted with more playing time than he’s had any in any previous campaign, which he may struggle with in Belgium.

The lack of time remaining in the window would’ve left Sheffield United with a lot to do to find an adequate replacement for Brooks, which would’ve been needed.
