At FC Bayern, a name from South America is currently fueling transfer rumors. Rodrigo Dudok has shown up at the German record champions and is currently training with the reserve team. Speculation quickly arose as to whether the winger might have a chance to make the first team.

A promising talent, Rodrigo Dudok, is currently training at Säbener Straße. After the 19-year-old winger was spotted in Munich, rumors quickly began circulating about whether the Uruguayan could be an option for FC Bayern’s first team.

Max Eberl has now made it clear, however, that Dudok is initially slated to play for Bayern’s amateur team. There is therefore no question of an immediate transfer to the first team.

Eberl clarifies Dudok’s status

When asked about the rumors surrounding the South American, Eberl explained: “He’s with us on the U23 team; he’s from our partner club in South America.”

Dudok is first expected to arrive in Munich and get used to the conditions at FC Bayern: “He’s supposed to train here and adapt—but that’s for the reserve team,” Eberl clarified.

With that, Bayern’s sporting director has likely put an end to speculation about a role with the first team. The initial focus is on helping the young player settle into life in Munich.

Bayern Rely on Partner Network

The fact that Dudok is training at FC Bayern at all is linked to the record champion’s existing partnership with the South American club Racing Club de Montevideo. For the Munich-based club, this network offers the opportunity to scout young talent early on and provide them with training experience in Europe.

For players from South America in particular, the move to Europe can represent an important phase in their development. Training sessions at a club like Bayern also give Dudok direct insight into the structures and demands of German soccer.

Whether the winger can play a larger role with the record champions in the long term remains to be seen. The key factors will likely be how he develops with the U23 team and how quickly he adapts to his new environment.
