City are set to wear our home kit for this last four clash. For a limited time only, the kit is 50% off!
The Englishman took over at Bournemouth in 2009 after being forced to end his playing career early due to injury.
He went on to guide the Cherries to promotion from the fourth tier.
He then left for a brief spell at Burnley in 2011 before returning to the south coast in October 2012 and continuing where he left off, eventually leading them to the Premier League in 2015.
They stayed in the top-flight for five seasons before relegation saw the end of his second spell with the Cherries.
2021 saw his appointment at Newcastle and since then, he’s taken them into the Champions League and won the League Cup, their first major trophy since 1955.
Leicester City Academy graduate Harvey Barnes has excelled during his time in the North East. Not only did he score twice against us last time out, but he’s enjoyed a recent spell of impressive form.
The winger netted twice in Wednesday night’s Premier League win over Leeds before finding the opener against Bournemouth in the Magpies FA Cup third round tie.
Barnes now has 12 direct goal involvements for the Magpies, with 10 scored and two assists.
Skipper, Bruno Guimaraes, is another name for City to keep an eye on.
The Brazilian put the Magpies in front in their victory over Crystal Palace with a 71st-minute header in Matchweek 20, his seventh goal of the season.
He then sent in the corner for defender Malick Thiaw to stab home the second in a 2-0 win at St James’ Park.
The boss will speak to the media at the City Football Academy at 12:30 (UK) on Monday 12 January.
We’ll have live coverage on mancity.com and our official app, with written and video recaps shortly after it concludes.

The Blues played out an exquisite 10-1 victory over Exeter City to safely secure our place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
It was set to be a special game from the off in a historic first meeting between the two sides which saw Academy prospect Ryan McAidoo and latest signing Antoine Semenyo make their City debuts.
It was a ruthless win which saw both debutants add to the scoresheet alongside Max Alleyne, Rodri, Jake Doyle-Hayes (OG), Jack Fitzwater (OG), Rico Lewis, Tijjani Reijnders and Nico O’Reilly.
A special mention also has to go to the Grecians’ George Birch who fired home a brilliant consolation goal.
We last faced the Magpies in our Premier League clash in November 2025. Two second-half goals from Harvey Barnes proved enough to give Newcastle a 2-1 win over City.
Barnes scored on 63 and 70 minutes - the second after a lengthy offside check coming two minutes after Ruben Dias had briefly levelled.
