Newcastle United have set their sights on Galatasaray defender Wilfried Singo and are preparing to test the Turkish champions’ resolve with an official proposal in the coming days, according to Turkish-Football.com.
Eddie Howe is seeking to reinforce his defence before the summer window closes, and the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international has been added to the Magpies’ shortlist.
Singo brings height at 1.90 metres, 6 ft 3 in, recovery pace and tactical flexibility, able to play at right-back or in central defence.
He joined Galatasaray in late August 2025 from AS Monaco in a deal valued at €30.8 million ($36 million). Since arriving in Istanbul, the Africa Cup of Nations winner has become a prized asset for the Süper Lig champions.
Club leaders are weighing up retaining him against a lucrative Premier League sale. Any offer would need to match a high valuation to prise him from a five-year deal running until June 2030, with other European sides monitoring the situation.
