Newcastle United appoint Oxtoby as new manager

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this morning.
The 43-year-old leaves her position as head coach of the Northern Ireland national team to take up the role. Oxtoby has spent a little over two years in charge of The Green and White Army.
Oxtoby has more than a decade of coaching experience in the game both at club and international level. The Newcastle United role is her fourth major managerial position. She previously led Nottingham Forest, Bristol City and Northern Ireland.
After being appointed Newcastle United boss, Oxtoby said “I am excited and honoured. It is an exciting project and it’s my job to add to that, we are very ambitious, and it will be an amazing journey.
“My job is to come in and develop players and take us to the next level. I want to help everyone reach their potential and take them on a journey that will be really successful.
“The ambition that the club shows and my own ambition, they align and we are wanting to be successful and that’s the responsibility I carry.”
Oxtoby will take up her role after Newcastle United’s Subway Women’s League Cup tie against Everton.
