The much anticipated 2024/25 Newcastle United away kit was finally released last month.

It matched expectations.

A throwback to the classic design of the 1990s during the Kevin Keegan era.

A superb promotional video (watch below) didn’t do any harm either!

Now the 2024/25 Newcastle United away kit is to get its first competitive run out, the club announcing on Saturday morning that the team will wear it at Wolves tomorrow.

I think it is easily the best of the three Adidas kits this season, the third kit is decent I think but the home one a bit average at best.

However, the away one is a real class effort and it appears I am not alone in thinking that. At the Tottenham match, where I was sitting and down at the bar beforehand, I reckon I saw four times as many away shirts as I did fans wearing the new black and white one.

The Mag report – 13 August 2024:

The leaked images of 2024/25 Newcastle United Away Shirt (see below) have proved to be spot on.

A video released on Tuesday morning showing that to be the case.

The club had teased last week, indicating that the new Newcastle United away shirt would be released on Tuesday 13 August 2024.

This 2024/25 Newcastle United away shirt a revamp of the very popular 1990s original.

Looks mighty fine.

The Mag report – 21 July 2024:

Newcastle United fans have been looking forward to the release of the 2024/25 Newcastle United Away Shirt.

The first home shirt of the new Adidas era appeared to go down very well.

Adidas of course had previously been the club’s kit partner from 1995 to 2010, before Mike Ashley put a stop to it.

Pretty much ever since the new Adidas era was confirmed, there has been widespread reporting that they could delve back into the previous 1995-2010 NUFC era for inspiration, especially for the away and third kits.

A particular, the 1995/96 Newcastle United away shirt getting plenty of mentions…

There have been ‘leaked’ images already circulating of what was claimed to be the new 2024/25 Newcastle United away shirt, often difficult to know exactly whether ‘leaked’ images are on the money…

However, a new update looks pretty much as sure as sure can be!

Ironically, the images emerge just as the Newcastle United squad is returning from a stay at the Adidas HQ world-class training facility in Germany.

Despite not even any news on when the launch of the 2024/25 Newcastle United away shirt will be (it was previously expected in early July but nothing showed), the Kitman site has this update of the ‘leaked’ new NUFC away shirt.

‘Football kit news as the new Newcastle United 2024-25 away kit has been spotted on sale at the Adidas store in New York City ahead of its official unveiling.

The Kitman site reports that ‘Although pictured with black shorts the new 2024-25 Newcastle United away kit will be completed with white shorts with maroon coloured socks.’
