Gregson joined the Newcastle United academy from FA Women’s National League Division 1 South West club Gwalia United during the second half of last season. The youngster initially impressed whilst representing The Magpies’ Under-21 side and she has since trained with the first team squad. Gregson made her senior debut for the club as they went down 3-1 to Aston Villa in the Subway Players Cup on Wednesday evening.

On the international stage, Gregson received her first senior call-up for Wales in midweek.

The player has now capped-off a memorable week by signing professional terms with Newcastle United.

After signing her first professional deal, Gregson said “It feels unreal. When I first had the conversation and heard I was getting a professional contract, I couldn’t believe it, and getting to share the news with my family was special.

“This is such a big club; everybody knows Newcastle. The style of football, the energy and determination from everyone here is unreal. I can keep improving and helping the team move forward.”

Gregson will now continue her development at Newcastle United with a view to pushing for further first team minutes.
