Newcastle United sign Polish international defender Grec | OneFootball

Newcastle United have completed the impressive signing of Polish international defender Malgorzeta Grec on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Magpies this evening.

The 25-year-old Wroclaw-born defender joins Newcastle United off the back of a spell with French Arkema Première Ligue club Dijon FCO. Grec helped her club record an impressive fourth-place finish last season before they were beaten in the play-off semi-finals by eventual winners OL Lyonnes. The player has spent the last three years at the Stade des Poussots.

On the international stage, Grec has been capped by Poland on 13 occasions while she has scored one goal for her country.

After signing for Newcastle United, Grec [also known as Gosia] said “I feel very excited to be a part of this big club and that’s such a pleasure for me. I cannot wait for our first game.

“Once I heard about the project here, it was amazing and all of the people here are very ambitious, so for me, the choice was very clear. Our objectives are very clear here to get to the WSL.”

Grec is Newcastle United’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
