According to a report in Fichajes, Conor Gallagher may be available for transfer this January. Atletico Madrid could demand around €50-60 million for him. Tottenham, Newcastle United, and Everton are all in the race to sign the England international. Gallagher may also consider a return to the Premier League to secure a place in the England team.

The Englishman is no longer Diego Simeone’s first choice at Atletico Madrid. The Argentine manager is giving more opportunities to other midfielders. This has increased the likelihood of Gallagher leaving Spain, and speculation about his return to the Premier League is gaining momentum.

Newspaper United tried to bring him on loan during the final days of the summer transfer window. Atletico Madrid could have also considered a permanent transfer if a club made a good offer. Now, the Spanish club is reportedly willing to sell him for €50-60 million in January.

The Magpies are once again looking to seize this opportunity. Everton also want to strengthen their midfield, and the 25-year-old is a great option for them. The player needs a team where he can play consistently, as regaining his place in the England squad is a major goal for him. Currently, he is not getting enough minutes at Atletico Madrid, which makes his national team prospects look dim.

What should the Magpies do?

Newcastle United should try to sign Gallagher, but a price tag of €50-60 million is too high. Given his current situation, an offer of €30-40 million would be more realistic. Gallagher’s tireless work rate, pressing ability, and Premier League experience appear to be a perfect fit for Eddie Howe’s team. He could add energy and dynamic play to the team’s midfield.

However, Newcastle must also consider financial balance. It would not be wise to pay such a high premium, especially since the player is not playing consistently at Atletico Madrid. If a deal comes through at the right price, Gallagher could prove to be a strong long-term investment for the Magpies.
