Newcastle United travel to Elland Road on Monday looking to continue an unbeaten start to the Premier League season under Matthias Jaissle.
The Magpies fought back from two goals down to draw with Bournemouth last weekend and edged past Millwall in the EFL Cup in midweek, and can win their first two away league games of a campaign for the first time since 1995-96. Newcastle have not lost to Leeds in six successive Premier League meetings, including January’s 4-3 win at St James’ Park, though Jaissle must first navigate a selection issue at right-back.
Joelinton (thigh), Dan Burn (ankle) and William Osula (ankle) are all expected to remain sidelined until after the international break. Ewen Jaouen has a chance of returning from his own ankle problem. Amar Dedic was withdrawn at half-time against Millwall with hamstring discomfort, though Jaissle does not consider the issue serious.
Should Jaissle choose not to risk Dedic from the start, Tino Livramento is in line for his first start of the season, having made his season debut off the bench against Bournemouth before playing 45 minutes in the EFL Cup win over Millwall. The rest of Newcastle’s side is expected to remain unchanged.
Newcastle United possible starting XI (4-2-3-1): Hornicek; Livramento, Thiaw, Botman, Hall; Gonzalez, Miley; Elanga, Willock, Barnes; Wissa
The Premier League match kicks off at 20:00 on Monday, 14 September 2026.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the UK.
