Neymar given cake as he marks 34th birthday at Santos training base

Neymar marked his 34th birthday at Santos’ training centre. He received a cake and celebrated with team-mates, club employees and coaching staff, with Juan Pablo Vojvoda among those present.

According to Globo.com, images were captured by the player’s staff and shared on Thursday night.

The player is in the final stage of recovery from surgery on the meniscus in his left knee and may return to action this weekend.

The expectation is that he will at least be named in the squad for Sunday’s match against Noroeste in Bauru, scheduled for 16:00 Brasília time.

The game is a direct fight against relegation in the Campeonato Paulista. Santos sit 14th on six points, two clear of Velo Clube, while Noroeste have seven points.
