Neymar’s new Kombi, a birthday present from his father, drew attention after he arrived for training in the customised van named Filomena. According to Globo.com, the build was completed on a drastically shortened schedule.

The project was inspired by his childhood, when the family used a similar model, nicknamed Filó, to take him to training while living in the São Paulo interior.

The conversion was carried out in Campinas by a specialist company. It is based on a 2012 Kombi, restored and personalised to his father’s brief after he commissioned it in October for a February handover, with delivery in four months rather than the usual 10.

Outside, the van wears metallic blue paint. Inside, a blue and white cabin features reclining leather seats with headrests bearing the names of relatives and friends, a 43-inch TV, two minibars, multimedia sound, air conditioning and proximity start.

A ladder leads to the roof rack, and the roof supports up to 120 kilograms. The player has already taken Filomena to Santos’ training centre.

Prices vary by specification, with builds now starting from R$ 250,000. After images were posted on his social channels, enquiries increased, and the firm, which can deliver about 24 units a year, had its schedule full until November with new clients joining the queue.
