Neymar has said his international career is approaching its end, speaking in a YouTube video on Wednesday after being left out of Carlo Ancelotti’s final Brazil camp before the 2026 World Cup, a tournament he still hopes to reach.
The 34-year-old said 2026 would obviously be his last World Cup. He was unsure whether this would also be his final year with the national team, though he believes the journey is nearing its close.
The 20-minute film follows the Santos playmaker across 48 hours and includes the 1-1 draw against Corinthians on 15 March.
The next day, while on the massage table, he saw Ancelotti’s list for friendlies against France on 26 March and Croatia on 1 April. Not selected, he joked about his absence before admitting he was sad, then said he would keep working, look to improve and be ready if a chance comes.
Neymar is Brazil’s record scorer, with 79 goals in 128 caps.
