Neymar was withdrawn at half-time with a right thigh problem as Santos suffered three injury setbacks in Wednesday’s Copa do Brasil quarter-final second leg against Palmeiras at Vila Belmiro. According to Diario Do Peixe, Álvaro Barreal and Lucas Veríssimo also went off with issues.
Barreal departed on 28 minutes after feeling pain in the back of his left thigh during a Palmeiras counter-attack following a challenge with Giay. He pointed to the area and requested a change, with Rollheiser replacing the Argentine.
Neymar complained of discomfort in the first half and signalled to the bench on 43 minutes. He walked the pitch and carried out brief tests before heading to the dressing room at the interval, and Rony came on at the start of the second period.
Veríssimo reported ankle discomfort and was also replaced at half-time. He and Barreal were already ruled out of the next match through suspension after receiving their third yellow cards.
Neymar is now a doubt for Sunday’s trip to Internacional at Beira-Rio, kick-off 16:00 Brasília time, in round 26 of the Brasileiro. Barreal and Veríssimo will be monitored by Santos’ medical department in the coming days.
Barreal has made 42 appearances in 2026, scoring six times with one assist, while Neymar was rested for the first leg. Santos began the second leg needing to overturn a 3-0 defeat from Nubank Parque, and now refocus on the league.
