Nice rival Lille in Hamari Traoré pursuit

According to a report from Foot Mercato, OGC Nice have entered the race to secure former Stade Rennais captain Hamari Traoré (33) from Real Sociedad. This comes amid uncertainty about Jonathan Clauss’s (32) future in the south of France, with Traoré seen as a replacement for the former Olympique de Marseille and RC Lens fullback.

Nice are not alone in their pursuit of the former Rennes man, with Lille OSC, Zenit Saint-Petersburg, and an unnamed La Liga side also interested in the defender. In the case of Lille, this would help strengthen a depleted workforce. However, the French outlet writes that Nice are in pole position to secure his signature.

Traoré’s time with Real Sociedad looks to be over, and it is expected that he will leave this summer. He had been close to a move to newly promoted Paris FC. However, reports suggest that the club’s minority owner, Red Bull, put a stop to this pursuit.
