Nice are planning a winter rebuild, with Elye Wahi and Aurèle Amenda emerging as options from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Foot Mercato reports that Nice have moved for Wahi, 22, as they seek a centre forward given the inevitable departure of Terem Moffi and Kevin Carlos's adaptation problems.
Competition for the Frenchman could be fierce, despite his struggles at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he has three Bundesliga starts and one goal in the German Cup. He is under contract until 2030.
A move to the Côte d’Azur would reunite him with Franck Haise after their 2023-2024 season at Lens, when Wahi scored 12 in 37 and struck in the 2-1 Champions League win over Arsenal.
Le Parisien writes that the trail to centre back Aurèle Amenda, 22 and under contract until 2029, is also concrete. The Switzerland international has just 286 minutes this season after a €9.5m move from Young Boys last summer.
Nice are short at centre back, with four long-term injuries in that area, Dante, Ndayishimiye, Bombito and Abdelmonem, while Antoine Mendy is at the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.
Beyond left back Melvin Bard, who often fills in, only youngsters Kojo Peprah Oppong and Juma Bah are available to form a pairing, and the City loanee has disappointed since arriving. The club are also considering an experienced addition.
In midfield, after Franck Haise requested a physical profile in recent weeks, Wolverhampton’s Zimbabwean Marshall Munetsi, 29 and under contract to 2028, could be among the options.
