Nice host Brest in Ligue 1 on 1 February, with one point between the sides and a chance to pull away from the lower half.
Nice and Brest meet again after Brest's 4-1 win in September, with the visitors 12th on 22 points and the hosts 13th on 21.
Les Aiglons arrive off a 4-1 win at Nantes that followed a 5-1 defeat at Toulouse. Brest have lost successive league games to Lyon and Toulouse after beating Auxerre earlier in January.
Les Aiglons list Melvin Bard, Youssouf Ndayishimiye, Hicham Boudaoui, Mohamed Abdelmonem and Moïse Bombito as injured, while Juma Bah is suspended. For Brest, Mama Baldé and Bradley Locko are sidelined.
Season profiles point to tight margins. Les Aiglons have scored 25 and conceded 36 with two clean sheets, while Brest sit on 24 for and 31 against with five shutouts. Possession trends are similar (Nice 48%, Brest 44%), and Brest have earned seven penalties, converting at 71.4%. Sofiane Diop leads Nice with seven league goals, while Romain Del Castillo has six for Brest and Ludovic Ajorque has supplied five assists.
A Brest win would take them to 25 points and could nudge them towards the top half. Victory for Les Aiglons would lift them to 24 and may move them above Brest, strengthening their position away from the relegation fight.
