Newcastle United are planning to send Nick Woltemade out on loan for the 2026/27 season, according to The Athletic.

The Premier League club have already informed the German forward of their decision, with Newcastle seeking a loan fee and unwilling to include a purchase option.

West Ham United, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, are currently considered favourites to sign the 24-year-old. There is also interest from clubs in Spain's La Liga and Italy's Serie A.

It also wouldn't come as a surprise if clubs from Germany entered the race for the former VfB Stuttgart striker, who was linked with Borussia Dortmund earlier this year.

Woltemade only joined Newcastle from VfB Stuttgart last summer for a €75 million fee. After a promising start to life in England, both his form and playing time declined as the season progressed.
