Nico Melamed ignited fury after UD Almería’s 3-2 play-off win over CD Castellón, appearing to taunt rivals moments after the stoppage-time decider.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, broadcast footage showed Melamed confronting Diego Barri and Ousmane Camara seconds after Dzodic’s 94th-minute header. Barri then pushed the Almería player.

The night was brutal for Pablo Hernández’s side, who needed a win after a 1-1 first leg. Embarba put Almería ahead before the interval, Castellón hit back through Cala and Sienra. Álex Muñoz levelled on 80 minutes, before Dzodic settled it in added time.

Reaction on social media was fierce, including from many Almería supporters, with calls for an internal sanction and posts labelling the conduct “vomitivo”, “repugnante” and “payaso”. One user said the celebration had stained the team’s passage and urged the club to punish him.

Bob Voulgaris, Castellón’s majority shareholder, expressed pride in Ousmane Camara and suggested he might not have kept his own composure in that moment. Others praised Castellón’s players for their restraint and argued such gestures should bring firm punishment.
